Every lake has the vintage, cottage, filled with all the things that grandma decided wasn’t good enough for home. All the stuff we LOVE NOW!! There is always an old sampler hanging as you walk in, greeting you with a fun and quirky saying. I have hand stitched a wonderful sampler, welcoming each and everyone to the cottage, making them feel right at home. It has been randomly stitched on to a rusty red with gold stripe brushed cotton from Moda Fabrics. It measures about 11” x 10”. The sampler is stitched on an osnaburg fabric, looks like a linen, and has been stained, for a vintage, old look. I then added wool felt appliqué for the corner flowers, adding a great dimension.
